McConnel Wood Products offer a range of consultancy, design, engineering and construction services for self-builders, architects, and builders & contractors working on private and public-sector projects.

Bespoke Design and Engineering – help for self-builders . . .

Design of oak frames for domestic and commercial projects, as well as design of exterior structures, e.g., walkways, for public and private clients. McConnel Wood Products also offer structural engineering services, working in conjunction with experienced engineers who have specialist knowledge of timber structures.

Specification - help for architects, designers and specifiers . . .

We help with temperate hardwood specification to ensure that the specifications are right for the project, are not unnecessarily expensive (a common result of over-specification) and that the material specified is actually available and can be delivered to site when required.

Procurement – help for builders and contractors

McConnel Wood Products can act as an intermediary and source the timber you require. For example, we make on-site visits to select oak bends for cruck frames.

Construction, Delivery and Assembly on Site

We build oak frames and other exterior hardwood structures at our sawmill in Dumfriesshire, and can both deliver the finished product and assemble on site if required.
